The tradition of wearing shawls and scarves has existed n Russia since ancient times. Once it was just not right to go out of the house bare-headed. It is a well-known Russian accessory and has been made in Pavlovsky Posad town, Moscow region since the 18th century. The shawls are quickly recognized by bright and rich colors and flower design.
Large flowers are very often represented though also other variations are possible. Materials are wool and silk of a very high quality. These stylish things have always been held in a high esteem and in the 90s of the 20th century when Russia started coming back to its roots the shawl fashion begun to thrive. Nowadays the drawing of a scarf and fabric itself are used also for production of other things such as vests, jackets, boots and so on.
